The product and technology
MedaPhor’s lead product, ScanTrainer, offers one of the most advanced ultrasound simulation experiences in the world.
Aimed at medical professionals who want to learn ultrasound, ScanTrainer offers a realistic ultrasound scanning experience by combining ‘real-feel’ haptic technology with real full-anatomy patient scans, real-time one-to-one expert guidance and curriculum based teaching. With ScanTrainer, users are taught ultrasound skills in a flexible self-learning environment that eliminates the need for patients and minimises the requirement for tutor supervision - making it both resource efficient and highly cost effective.
There are currently two ScanTrainer products available - the transvaginal (TVS) simulator and transabdominal (TAS) simulator, both of which are currently being sold into obstetrics, gynaecology, emergency medicine and radiology departments, simulation teaching centres, medical schools and university teaching hospitals, military hospitals and community colleges around the world.
In 2014, MedaPhor released ScanTrainer Cloud – a cloud-based version of ScanTrainer. This enables tutors and trainees more flexible use of their ScanTrainer. For trainees it offers remote access to results and learning resources – available from any internet enabled device. For tutors it enables them to remotely access trainee results, usage statistics, share bespoke modules as well as receive automatic updates to the system.
